Our Story
SpinLab was born in a special education classroom. As a teacher and DJ, I saw how students lit up when they got behind the decks — how music helped them express what words couldn’t. That spark became something bigger: a way to build confidence, focus, and pride through performance. SpinLab started with a few curious learners and grew into a mission to help people of all ages feel seen, heard, and celebrated through music.
Meet the Founder
DJ Mackie is an educator, performer, and creator with over a decade of experience in both the classroom and on stage. As the founder of SpinLab DJ Academy, he blends technical skill with a deep passion for community. From school gyms to packed venues, his mission is the same: help others find their sound, own their story, and turn up with purpose.
